Eveson (Alex Eveson) is an English producer and DJ working across drum and bass and jungle, with parallel interests in ambient, dark ambient, drone, drumstep, dub techno and IDM. He was born in Glastonbury, Somerset, has lived in Bristol and is currently based in London. His recorded work includes a full-length on V Recordings: The Last Summer of Love (2012).
His entry into the scene came through visual art as much as through music. Before and alongside releasing records, Eveson worked as a visual and sleeve artist for labels including Metalheadz, Exit Records and Quarantine. That design and sleeve work placed him in direct contact with label processes and release campaigns, and he later translated that crossover of visual and musical practice into running his own art-and-music imprint, Channel 82.
As a producer, Eveson’s output sits at the intersection of textural music and bass-weighted club forms. He draws on ambient and drone techniques—long sustained pads, layered atmospheres and sparse, stretched timbres—then places them against programmed drumwork from drum and bass, jungle and drumstep. In practice that means tracks that combine low-frequency sub layers and deep reverb with detailed percussion editing and occasional half-time drumstep grooves. Elements associated with dub techno—echo, delay and roomy spatial processing—appear alongside IDM-style micro-editing and the melodic sensibilities of liquid funk where appropriate; the result emphasises atmosphere without discarding rhythmic detail.
Eveson’s concrete contributions include his 2012 album The Last Summer of Love on V Recordings and his ongoing role as label head of Channel 82, which presents both artwork and music under a single umbrella. His sleeve and visual commissions for Metalheadz, Exit Records and Quarantine are part of his documented activity in the scene and show a practice that spans cover art, release presentation and sound. Publicly available information about further releases and collaborations is limited beyond these details.
His practical profile is therefore twofold: studio producer shaping ambient-to-dnb material, and visual/label operator handling artwork and release curation. He continues to work from London under the Eveson name while maintaining Channel 82 as the visible outlet for his combined art-and-music projects.
