FooR is a British dance-music collective from Southampton. Formed in 2015, the group operates as DJs and producers across bassline, UK garage, bass house and drum & bass. Core members include Gavin Foord, Aki (Paul Aki) and Tyrone, with MC Jukie handling vocal/MC duties within the collective.
The collective came together in 2015 to work across club-friendly UK bass styles. Early activity focused on producing and DJing versions of garage and bassline alongside dancefloor-facing bass house and DnB edits. That cross-genre approach led to studio remixes, collaborations with vocalists and bookings at major UK festivals and international events.
Sonically, FooR blends characteristics from the four genres they work in. Their garage- and bassline-leaning tracks favour swung, shuffling percussion and prominent low-end movement; bass house cuts tighten that low-end around four-to-the-floor kick patterns and midrange drive. When they move into drum & bass tempos they retain emphatic sub weight and often repurpose chopped vocal hooks and pitched fragments from original stems. Their remixes of high-profile material — presented as garage/bassline reworks — demonstrate a consistent use of vocal editing, rhythmic swing and bassline-focused synthesis rather than extended ambient passages.
On production technique, FooR’s output shows a practical, club-oriented approach: vocal stems are re-cut for rhythmic hooks; basslines are sculpted to sit high in the mix for club systems; percussion programming emphasises syncopation and groove. Their releases span originals, singles and remixes; notable public facts include garage/bassline remixes of artists such as Skepta and Whitney Houston, and vocal collaborations with Wavysof.
In 2018 FooR issued the album Friends of FooR. Released February 2018, Friends of FooR entered the Official UK Dance Chart at number nine. The collective have taken that material to stages at Creamfields and the Isle of Wight Festival, plus other UK and international events, combining DJ sets and live-leaning performances with MC Jukie’s vocals.
Connections and collaborations are concrete points in their catalogue: remixes of Skepta and Whitney Houston, a vocal partnership with Wavysof, and the chart placement of Friends of FooR in February 2018. These items map the collective’s role — studio producers, remixers and festival performers — operating out of Southampton across bassline, UK garage, bass house and drum & bass.
