Shutdown: Halloween Special w/ DJ Die

<p>Put on your scariest costumes and as Shutdown welcomes one of Bristol’s best home grown artists and absolute pioneers of the scene, DJ DIE.</p><p>Bristol has been a significant hub for British dance music over the past 20 years, especially in genres like jungle, drum &amp; bass, and dubstep. Central to this scene is DJ Die, who moved to Bristol in 1985 and became a key figure in the city’s music evolution. His career began in the 1980s, influenced by Bristol-based collectives like Wild Bunch, and led him to collaborate with notable names like Roni Size. Together, they produced jungle/D&amp;B classics, founded the Full Cycle label, and won a Mercury Music Prize with their group Reprazent.</p><p>Die’s career has spanned decades, evolving from rave and house music to jungle and D&amp;B. His work includes collaborations with famous artists like Method Man and Pharoahe Monch, and projects like Breakbeat Era and I-Kamanchi. In 2007, he founded his own label, Clear Skyz, which has continued to foster new D&amp;B talent, and launched the Gutterfunk label, showcasing diverse genres and artists.</p><p>DJ Die remains an influential figure in the dance music world, constantly innovating with new sounds and projects, such as ‘Watch The Ride’, a D&amp;B collective featuring DJ Die, Dismantle, and the late great, DJ Randall.</p><p>Completing the lineup we have NOOCH, BUDDEN, FLURO and SONDERR.</p><p>Please note that ‘Free Entry’ tickets are only valid until 11PM.
