SPELLBOUND - 'A Party for the People'

<p>Band on the Wall welcomes back legendary drum n’ bass night SPELLBOUND for a</p><p>late summer party.</p><p>In the late 90’s, when the new sounds of jungle and drum n’ bass were transforming</p><p>the musical landscape, Band on the Wall looked to incorporate this new music into</p><p>their repertoire, Inviting SPELLBOUND to come and be the first outside promotion to</p><p>work with the venue. The first but not the last, as Band on the Wall went on to offer a</p><p>home to numerous dance and electronic related music events.The late 90’s were a</p><p>time of much experimentation within Manchester’s beats orientated music scenes,</p><p>with musicians working with various DJ’s and promoters across the city, a culture</p><p>which continues to this day and a culture that Band on the Wall was pivotal in</p><p>developing..</p><p>Spellbound operated at numerous venues, from Kaleida {now Matt and Phred’s] and</p><p>Planet K, right up to Manchester Academy but Band on the Wall was always</p><p>Spellbound’s spiritual home and the venue that revellers remember most fondly, in</p><p>part because of the fantastic sound system and acoustics that facilitated live jazz</p><p>improvisation alongside the runaway train that was the sound of Jungle.</p><p>So come along and join DJ’s Sappo, Kingsize Diligent Fingers and the equally</p><p>legendary Platoon Allstars who join Spellbound originals Inkey, Diemond and Tonn</p><p>piper as they set the vibes for Kevin Davy and his trumpet and Jason Singh on</p><p>percussion duties, improvising their way to the kind of madness that only Spellbound</p><p>can induce.</p>
