1993 - Together with the Djs ATA and HEIKO MSO, they established three labels, ONGAKU,

KLANG ELEKTRONIK and PLAYHOUSE.

They released several maxi singles and an album under the pseudonym ACID JESUS.

Later that year they changed their name to ALTER EGO. The following year they founded SENSORAMA, an outlet for their more ambient tracks.

The first ALTER EGO LP appeared 1994 on SVEN VAETHS HARTHOUSE label, which was at that time, one the most pioneering labels from Germany. The impact of this LP on the British music scene was headlined by remixes from BLACK DOG, LUKE SLATER & DAVID HOLMES.

The success of these projects in England led to the album DECODING THE HACKER MYTH«, following up with an UK tour as a live act. The LP also included a bonus remix CD with contributions from ANDREW WEATHERALL`s TWO LONE SWORDSMEN project, MATTHEW HERBERT, LUKE SLATER and ALTER EGO.

1997 - ALTER EGO release their last single for Harthouse »ABSOLUTE«. They then made the decision to concentrate on further productions for their own label KLANG ELEKTRONIK.

1999 saw the release of »BETTY FORD«, which became one of the most memorable and biggest club hits of that year.

2000 - The »SLAUGHTERHOUSE« EP was released, accompanied by BETTY FORD remixes from DJ RUSH, WASSERMANN (Wolfgang Voigt), JUSTIN BERKOVI and Ekkehard Ehlers & Albrecht Kunze`s MAERZ project.

In the two following years ALTER EGO were busy doing a co-production with SVEN VAETH for his albums, »CONTACT« and »FIRE«.

2002 - »TRANSPHORMER«, a 12” of the title track and appetizer of the forthcoming album is released on KLANG ELEKTRONIK.

The year after that, ALTER EGO concentrated on the production of their LP. In March 2004 the massive single »ROCKER« was released to give a taste of their new album »TRANSPHORMER« which came out in May 2004 and got worldwide attention, thus leading to exclusive licenses of »ROCKER« all over the world. With the help of SKINT RECORDS, »ROCKER« even managed to climb up the british single charts up to position #32.

ALTER EGO have also been nominated for diverse top positions in various music magazines such as (GROOVE: best track, best album, best liveact, RAVELINE: best track, best producer, DE:BUG: singles #1, albums #4, liveact #3, INTRO: writer’s single charts #1 and Top Ten of SPEX editorial office -and reader’s singlecharts). They are also nominated at the DANCE AWARD

In March 2005.

ALTER EGO have also produced remixes for artists and bands such as: THE HUMAN LEAGUE, PRIMAL SCREAM, CHICKS ON SPEED, SVEN VAETH, OCTAVE ONE, BABY FORD, CABARET VOLTAIRE, 2RAUMWOHNUNG and recently SOLVENT and RITON plus plus plus... more and more to come!

In 2005 Klang Elektronik will release a 2-CD set of all these remixes plus all ALTER EGO tracks that have been remixed by other artists.
