On hazy Sunday mornings, the living room pulsed with thumping basslines and glossy guitar licks. Sunlight caught on stacks of CDs beside the stereo. That was Nocturnal Wax’s introduction to sound: the irresistible urge to move sparked by his family’s favorites from Armand Van Helden, George Benson, and Chic. The move and groove of that music stuck with him into his teenage years. He began collecting records, learned the art of DJing, and followed in the footsteps of his radio broadcasting heroes.

2015 saw the beginning of his first project, The Electrified Broadcast. What began as a SoundCloud podcast quickly gained traction, reaching listeners in over 20 countries. The show's growing popularity caught the attention of Platinum Radio London, who invited Nocturnal Wax to bring his program to their global platform. This transition turned The Electrified Broadcast into a weekly showcase for new and classic tunes, along with guest sets from talented DJs in the United Kingdom and abroad.

In 2018, the transition from the internet to terrestrial FM radio became a reality with the launch of Studio 96. Aired on Arlington Independent Media's WERA 96.7 FM in the Washington, DC area, the show focused on the sounds of underground dance and electronica by incredible artists and producers from DC and beyond. It also boosted the sounds of underground dance and electronic music on the DC area's airwaves. Guest selectors ranged from hometown heroes like Jackson Ryland and Nativesun to world-renowned figures like FIT Siegel and Carl Craig. Each added their sonic strand to the show's musical fabric.

Although Studio 96 has been on hiatus, the passion for his craft has remained strong. A DJ residency with DC's Hast du Feuer in 2023 kept his selector's instinct sharp, and led to the founding of "tender.", a new independent series in the city with fellow followers of the night Side II Side, OK Carty, and Artemis. United by the belief that dance floors should be welcoming spaces where femme and queer voices are heard and celebrated, they curated events focused on spotlighting their own sounds and uplifting rising performers from these communities.

Through intricately planned radio shows and dynamic DJ sets, Nocturnal Wax aims not only to expand your horizons but also to foster lasting connections to the vast and vibrant world of underground sounds. With every broadcast and performance, he strives to inspire, celebrate diversity, and leave a meaningful imprint on the ever-evolving dance and electronic music scene.
