Dustin J. Burk, known professionally as PsoGnar, is an American producer, vocalist and DJ from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He works primarily in deathstep, drumstep, dubstep and riddim, and has been active since about 2012.
PsoGnar entered wider public view after winning Insomniac’s Discovery Project. That victory led directly to festival performances at Electric Daisy Carnival in both Orlando and Las Vegas. Since then he has released music on established bass labels including Never Say Die and Deadbeats and issued the full-length album Fate of Gnarnia.
As a producer and vocalist, PsoGnar pairs melodic singing with story-driven lyricism. His records routinely place sung hooks and narrative verses over heavily produced bass music arrangements — a contrast between clean vocal lines and aggressive low-end. He also appears as a DJ and performs live sets alongside his production work.
Musically PsoGnar’s productions sit at the intersection of brutal bass and melodic songwriting. On the technical side he uses layered, distorted low-frequency design common to deathstep and riddim: stacked subs, detuned reeses and saturated midrange growls. His tracks often combine half-time drum patterns and syncopated snare placements associated with drumstep with the triplet stabs and repeating motifs typical of riddim. Vocals receive prominent processing — pitch correction, formant shifts and chopped repeats — which he uses to turn melodic phrases into rhythmic elements that lock with the bass. Arrangement-wise he alternates clear verse/chorus vocal sections with stripped drops and heavy mid-section drops to emphasize contrast.
Specific career highlights include releases on Never Say Die and Deadbeats and the album Fate of Gnarnia. He has collaborated with Spag Heddy, Teminite, Extra Terra and Dion Timmer on production and vocal work; those partnerships appear across singles and collaborative tracks and underline his crossover between melodic songwriting and heavy bass music production. Winning the Insomniac Discovery Project and playing EDC Orlando and Las Vegas are credited milestones that expanded his live profile.
Known publicly for blending sung vocal lines and narrative lyrics into bass-heavy tracks, PsoGnar continues to release and perform from Fort Lauderdale while working across deathstep, drumstep, dubstep and riddim styles.
