Tokyo-born multi-instrumentalist Takuya Nakamura blends jungle, minimal techno, jazz and soul to create a unique form of space ambient. As an active producer, composer and improviser, he plays piano, trumpet and a wide range of electronic instruments. In the 1990s, Nakamura moved to the United States to study with jazz theorist George Russell. Here he developed a deep understanding of jazz theory and composition. Nakamura then settled in New York, where he quickly became a prominent figure in the jungle scene. His versatility as a musician led to collaborations with well-known artists such as Quincy Jones, DJ Logic and Arto Lindsay.
