Marc Veira (born 17 March 1980), better known as Flowdan, is an English grime MC and record producer from Forest Gate in East London, later based around Bow. Within drum and bass and jungle contexts he is best known for crossover vocal appearances that place his grime delivery over dub-leaning and bass-heavy electronic productions — most recently on the 2023 single "Rumble" with Skrillex and Fred Again..
Flowdan was a founding member of Roll Deep and came up in the first wave of grime MCs in the early 2000s. He appears on landmark crew and scene tracks from that period and was one of the artists featured on Lethal Bizzle's 2004 single "Pow! (Forward)". Those early Roll Deep years established him as a commanding voice in grime before he moved into solo releases and collaborations across dub, electronic and drum and bass.
As a solo artist he has released the album Original Dan (2009), the Serious Business EP (2014) and the album Disaster Piece (2016). He is also noted for frequent collaborations with producer The Bug, pairing his vocal work with The Bug’s dub- and bass-oriented production on multiple projects. Beyond those named releases, Flowdan’s recorded output spans grime releases and cross-genre features that bring his vocals into dubstep, dub and drum and bass settings.
Musically, Flowdan’s contribution is principally vocal and rhythmic: he deploys a low-register, cadenced MC delivery that translates into chant-like hooks and cuts that sit over sub-heavy production. In crossover tracks he typically supplies short, emphatic vocal motifs and refrains rather than extended melodic lines, which makes his parts easy to lock into rolling jungle breaks or more spacious dub-influenced arrangements. His work with The Bug and on electronic collaborations demonstrates a recurring pairing of his baritone vocal presence with deep bass weight and stripped, effect-forward production.
Roles and contributions are concrete: founding member of Roll Deep (early 2000s), featured artist on Lethal Bizzle’s 2004 "Pow! (Forward)", solo releases Original Dan (2009), Serious Business EP (2014) and Disaster Piece (2016), frequent collaborator with The Bug, and a named vocal contributor on the 2023 single "Rumble" with Skrillex and Fred Again.. Public documentation focuses on these credits and on Flowdan’s role as an MC who moves between grime and bass-driven electronic contexts.
