Fleur Koelman, known professionally as Yue, is a producer, DJ and visual artist working in drum and bass, drumstep, dubstep and liquid funk. She is originally from Haarlem, Netherlands, and is currently based in Amsterdam. Her first single, "Set Sail," was released on Pilot. records.
Yue began DJing around the age of 14 after a childhood studying cello. She spent seven years working at Liquicity, and has appeared at Liquicity events. She has also toured as support for Fox Stevenson on dates across Europe and the United States.
As a producer, Yue operates across the heavier and more melodic sides of bass music. Her output sits between liquid funk’s emphasis on pads and melody and drumstep/dubstep’s larger low-end focus: tracks foreground clean low-frequency separation, layered drum programming and clear melodic lines. In practice that shows up as precise drum edits and stacked percussion, careful sidechain and sub-kick management for punch and clarity, and the use of sustained pads and textural FX to carry chordal content—elements that listeners and DJs have noted in her Pilot. records release and live sets.
On the decks Yue started young and has translated studio ideas into DJ sets and support touring. She has performed at Liquicity-branded shows and joined Fox Stevenson’s tour as a support act, bringing her productions and selections to venues across Europe and the US. Alongside DJing and producing, Yue also works as a visual artist, integrating visual practice with her music activity while operating out of Amsterdam.
Public biographical detail beyond these points is limited; the verifiable milestones for Yue remain her Haarlem origins, Amsterdam base, early cello training, starting to DJ at 14, the seven-year stint at Liquicity, the "Set Sail" release on Pilot. records, performances at Liquicity events and touring as support for Fox Stevenson.
