ELSEWHERE events bring you SYNKRO for a mid-summer deep chill night at The Deli, with the support from Michael Red, Captivate and Vasho.

SYNKRO ///

Manchester’s Joe McBride pens elaborate, emotive & intellectual soundscapes, drawing in influences across a spectrum of bass culture and electronica. Having released with Exit Records, Brownswood, Styrax, Auxiliary & Med School, as well as remixes for Model 500, Snow Patrol, Lowb & a plethora more, Synkro has most recently found a home at R&S sister label ‘Apollo’. Major support for Synkro’s music has come from names like Chris Coco, Giles Peterson, Mary Anne Hobbs, Prefuse 73 and dBridge. A truly staple artist in the timeline of UK Bass.

MICHAEL RED ///

Michael Red is a well known and respected Vancouver based music producer, curator, and DJ. Experienced and celebrated in long list of genres over the years, including jungle, trip hop, ambient, downtempo, dub, dancehall, dubstep, and the many strains of bass-driven hybrid genres and global fusion sounds.

CAPTIVATE ///

Captivate is a producer and DJ based on the ancestral lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples. His music pushes bass-forward sounds with deep roots in the past, drawing from 90s UK rave music, Jamaican soundsystem culture and ambient music. In recent years, leftfield techno has also become a key influence on his sound. Captivate’s DJ sets shapeshift between genres and tempos, instead focusing on mood, narrative, and rhythmic exploration.

Captivate has shared his craft at renowned festivals such as Bass Coast and Shambhala, his music has garnered strong support from many of his influences, including Om Unit, J:Kenzo, and Doctor Jeep.

VASHO ///

Vasho is a DJ and Promoter operating out of Vancouver and Sunshine coast. He is a member of SHAHdjs and runs his own event series under the name ELSEWHERE, keeping busy within the electronic and bass music scenes in the city. Vashos' tastes float around atmospheric, minimal, often cinematic types of Drum'n'bass / Techno and Ambient.
