Our first dance of 2025 invites DnB pioneer, the foundational DJ Flight for her solo Naarm debut + Brown Suga Princess, C:1, DJ Mum & more on Friday 17/01/25 for a very special Naarm venue debut of the yet-to-be publicly opened Level 2 at HER (above Music Room, 270 Lonsdale St).

Dubbed the ‘The Empress’, Flight heads up play:musik, becoming the first woman to host a national Drum & Bass show, ‘The Next Chapter’ on BBC in 2002 (currently RinseFM), & is co-founder of EQ50 - a collective of femme artists focused on equitable gender representation including Nia Archives, Sherelle & Mantra.

With recent accolades incl. DJ Mag’s ‘Outstanding Contribution to Dance Music’, Mixmag’s ‘DJs Who Defined The Year’ & ‘Best Music Special’ for ’Turn It Up: A Short History of Drum and Bass’ from the UK Radio Academy ARIAs in 2023, Flight is inbound with heavy dubs from 90’s breakbeat hardcore to future DnB/Footwork hybrids & beyond, flying the flag for femme bass power with an extended set hot on the heels of her The DOT 2025 performance.
